Kate made her domestic league netball debut for the Vixens in 2013 and was appointed captain of the team four years later.
Passionate about equity and access for all, Kate is a proud Ambassador of TeamSports4All and helping all kids get the opportunity to play team sport, regardless of their financial situation.
“Team sport has been a massive, positive influence in my life, both on and off the field. I can’t imagine how tough it must be for the kids – and families – who just want to get out there and have a go, but their financial circumstances don’t stretch that far. TS4A is a great program which allows for all kid’s to play sport no matter what their circumstances are.”

“I’m very proud to be an Ambassador for TeamSports4All. Team sports has been such an important part of my life, and to be able to help children from marginalised communities have the opportunity to play, is something that I am very passionate about supporting.
“I want to be involved in TS4A because I’m so passionate about Football and I believe that every child deserves to play any sport that they desire. Most importantly whatever is going on in their outside lives, sport organically can put a smile on a child’s face. There’s no better feeling than seeing kids just have fun and enjoy time with each other, and building friendships! I look forward to playing my part to make sure that young aspiring footballers have a fair opportunity and chance of achieving their dreams… and at the same time doing something that makes them really happy.”

Tara Bohanna
“I’ve seen first-hand how being part of a team can change your life.
It teaches resilience, connection and belief in yourself. As a TeamSports4Girls Ambassador, I want to help make sure every girl, no matter where she comes from, gets the same opportunity to experience that.
TeamSports4All does amazing work in the community and is changing lives. I will continue to give back wherever I can to give these kids a chance.”
“I don’t know where I would be in life today without having played team sports as a kid. Between the ages of 4 and 18 I played rugby union, cricket, AFL, rugby league and soccer, and a lot of my good friends to this day were made through these junior teams. Team sports teaches you the value of working with others towards a common goal, and are also really important in learning how to be resilient! I strongly believe that every kid should have the opportunity to learn these skills, and most importantly have fun outdoors with their friends. I would love to help TS4A make this possible for the kids of Melbourne.”

Elaine Grigg
Rising Star Nominee
A creative forward-midfielder, Elaine Grigg is quick, elusive and strong in the contest. Brings great enthusiasm and a team-first mentality, while her agility, tackling and defensive pressure are key parts to her game. Arrived at the Kennel with pick 6 in the 2023 AFLW Draft.
“Playing sport has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up it was hard for me to play Rep basketball because financially it was tough for my family. That’s why I’m so happy and honoured to be an Ambassador for TeamSports4All. To help kids that are in a similar position as I was growing up play the sports they love, make life long connections with peers and coaches, and all the while having fun.”

‘I am a huge believer in sports participation so it really breaks my heart when I learn that children cannot participate in the sports they love due to barriers whether that be financially, time constraints and or lack of access.
Through this partnership I am deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion so all kids can feel comfortable on and off the sports field.‘
